Job Description:
The client anticipates award of a labor hour contract type. The labor category required for this position is a BI Architect with a minimum of 12 years' experience
and hourly estimates equal to 960 hours for a period of six months.

 


The client has deployed the basic server environment for the Microsoft Business Intelligence technology stack that includes SharePoint 2013, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), PerformancePoint and Excel Services. In addition, the county has developed basic data marts and business intelligence pilot applications to demonstrate capabilities of Microsoft BI platform. The contractor shall provide improvements to this technology environment to support a large scale implementation of business intelligence throughout the county. However additional systems support and development may be required.

 

 

 

The contractor shall:
• Monitor, maintain, enhance and manage business intelligence technology environment.
• Utilize an iterative development methodology for all work done under this contract. The methodology shall allow users to examine the validity and accuracy of the business requirements and to respond to the usability and performance of new developments. User testing and acceptance throughout the development cycle will detect usability issues, missing requirements, and any necessary design changes early in the process, allowing them to be put in place immediately.
• Identify risks associated with the implementation of new business intelligence efforts and the identification of techniques to mitigate the risks.
• Collect, develop, and analyze software requirements through the use of facilitated user sessions.
• Develop ETL routines for identified data sets within County departments using Microsoft SSIS technology
• Develop data marts for specific datasets within County departments using Microsoft SSAS technology
• Develop business intelligence type reports using Microsoft SSRS, PowerPivot and PowerView
• Provide Graphic design for application user interface
• Adhere to 508 compliance regulations for all development efforts
• Develop, document, and adhere to effective and appropriate configuration management practices.
