5% Product and Application Testing

Perform functional, automated and regression testing

Perform verification of user documentation

Perform verification of user security features

20% Develop Test Approach and Plan

Translate user application environment and product features into testing requirements

including the plan for automated testing

Define and document testing specifications

Prioritize needs for testing and develop budget, schedule and cost estimates based on testing scenarios

Communicate to and negotiate with project and product manager and technical groups the proposed testing plan and scope

Obtain team and project/product manager approval for test approach and plan

15% Develop Test Components and Processes

Identify components to be tested

Develop test schedule and detailed test specifications and parameters

Communicate test schedule and specifications to project and product manager and product development team in appropriate level of detail

Define test scenarios, test cases, and test data

Define acceptable range for test results

Assess impact of performance deviation on project schedule and product functionality

Develop or modify automated test cases

5% Implement Test Plan

Develop and implement test schedule and process for components, system, and documentation

Assess and revise test sequence and scope based on test results and or changes in product design

Document test results

Communicate test issues to project, product manager and team in appropriate level of detail

10% Analyze Test Results and Findings

Gather, analyze, and summarize test results

Reconcile test results from different tests and different groups

Document findings from test results

Communicate test results to appropriate personnel

Evaluate the importance of test results and compare to acceptable variances

Identify missing or erroneous test information and develop appropriate solution

5% Provide Status and Develop Recommendations Based on Test Results

Develop status reports based on test completion and test findings

Communicate and disseminate reports to appropriate technical groups

Develop recommendations based on test results to improve or correct design

Contribute information based on test results to design, development, and documentation teams and other relevant technical groups

Assess readiness and deviation of product functionality based on test results and product specifications

Communicate status to project and product manager and present the implication of test results on overall project plan

5% Develop and Implement Plan for End User Testing

Identify, coordinate, and communicate to testing participants

Develop the test scenario, environment, and evaluation measures

Support the users during testing

Document the test results

Analyze test results and make recommendations for further testing and/or design modifications

10% Develop, maintain, and extend the test automation infrastructure

Collaborate with other IT groups to design, develop, and implement automation plans

Assist to mentor the automated testing effort

Collect metrics and assist to analyze metrics

Recommend improvements based on metrics analysis

Assist to design and extend the automation infrastructure

Education: This position requires a four year degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: The candidate must have an operational understanding of application testing principals, a minimum of four years in an application testing environment, and experience with scripting, test case automation and load volume testing
