We are seeking a PHP/Drupal Engineer for our client in Reston, VA.

All members of the UI team are expected to possess the following qualities: Can hand-code without needing assistance from code completion or any computer program. Can document ideas in hand-written pseudo code. Continuously seeks out and learns new CSS and web design techniques. Is a mature professional with initiative and drive. Truly enjoys user interface creation and front end development. The following qualities are not required, but are highly desired: Understands and enthusiastically embraces philosophies like Web Standards, Lean Startups, Semantic markup and good programming practices. Has created their own independent projects or contributed to open source projects. Is active in the local or national web design and development community.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior PHP/Drupal engineer builds backend and front end solutions in PHP on a LAMP stack, frequently using Drupal. They are an expert in PHP 5.3 and Drupal 6 and 7, with significant knowledge of HTML 4 and 5, CSS 2 and 3, Javascript and jQuery. Ideal Sr. PHP/Drupal Engineers will have experience with large enterprise software projects, from conception to delivery to testing. This position will interact closely with project management and UI developers to shape project requirements and guide projects through completion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build, test, deploy and maintains PHP code for web pages and applications. Build, test, deploy and maintains Drupal websites. Plan, create, test, deploy and maintains MySQL databases. Manage projects and coordinate with other stakeholders. Participate in project planning and estimating. Works tightly with other members of the team.

* Education/Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in web development or a related field using PHP; 3+ years of professional experience with Drupal
