Position: MQSeries Administrator

Location: Baltimore, MD

long-term contract, starting around Jan 16th (will go 1+ year)

This is a C2C position.

 

Requirements:

Administration Support experience of Windows 2003/2008 server architecture that host internally developed applications and IBM WebSphere MQSeries v6& v7 and Integrated Message Broker v6

    · Server Administration and Server Configuration Management to include:

        o Management of application COM/COM+, IIS/.NET Web Services installations

        o Management of WebSphere MQSeries & Message Broker v6 on Microsoft Windows 2003 2-Node MSCS Clusters & Standalone servers environments

        o Experience with the use of Load-balanced Win 2003 Application servers environments (Cisco preferred)

        o Management of installed Microsoft and Oracle Products (Oracle Client 9/10g, .NET, MDAC, XML Parser, Host Integration Service..)

        o Coordinate initiatives with all corporate infrastructure areas when necessary (Wintel, Unix, AD, Data Networks,.)

        o Perform and monitor monthly Microsoft Security server patching; Reconcile possible operational issues caused by patching

        o Perform server administration support to include Performance Monitoring, Security, Event log, space management, services

    · WebSphere MQSeries v6/v7, Message Broker v6 and QPASA v4(MQSeries Configuration & Monitoring) Windows/Unix Administration to include:

        o Queue Manager Configuration

            1. Queue Manager - Creating, Starting, Configuring and Stopping

            2. Local / Remote Queues

            3. Queue, Channels, Process Definitions, Client Connections, Listener, Properties and Configuration

            4. Linear/Circular Logging

            5. Dead Letter Queue Maintenance

            6. Persistent/Non-Persistent Messages

        o Triggering

            1. Implementation

            2. Queue/Channels and Process Definitions

            3. Trigger Monitors (Windows/UNIX)

            4. Trigger Messages Troubleshooting

        o Queue Manager Inter-communication

            1. Sender, Receiver Channels

            2. Transmission Queues

            3. Remote Queue Definitions

            4. Listeners

            5. Channel States, Recovery, Configuration

        o WBIMB Broker Domains

            1. Architecture / Planning

            2. Configuration Manager Maintenance

            3. Broker and Name Server Maintenance

            4. Eclipse Toolkit to deploy message flows/groups

            5. Planning Code Deploys

            6. Broker User Ids and Rights Security Groups

    · Other Requirements

        o Provide off hours 24 x 7 support

        o Perform Application deployments

        o Provide Application troubleshooting support with Application support personnel various Corporate infrastructure support areas

        o Support corporate infrastructure initiatives (Server Replacement / Migration to Virtual Servers)

        o QPASA MQSeries Configuration and Monitoring - setup the necessary monitoring templates, triggers & actions to support additional and/or modification of existing alerts

        o Annual review of MQSeries, Integrated Message Broker, & QPASA product licenses and maintenance costs

        o Application Development experience in MTS/COM/COM+,.NET 3.0/4.0, well formed XML, IIS 6/7, WEB Services

    · Ability to plan, coordinate and communicate product deployments and upgrades.

    · Become self-sufficient and resourceful; and able to perform tasks with limited assistance from peers.

    · Have ability to analyze/troubleshoot system problems, determine and document the resolution.

    · Excellent written and oral communication (communication and documentation of procedures and processes).

    · Some experience UNIX Administration is a plus but not required
