-- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage our clients global Linux systems as a member of the IT organization. Ensure that UNIX & Linux resources (Systems, Servers & Services) are available to a wide range of business processes in a continuous and consistent manner.

Deliver availability and response/resolution metrics that meet or exceed defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Perform routine maintenance of systems including account & printer administration, system patching, testing, and business-requested change requests. Lead in and/or participate in large-scale project teams to implement sustainable & supportable technology solutions. Understanding of systems development lifecycle.

Expert-level knowledge of Linux-based operating systems (SUSE and/or RHEL preferred)
Expert Level knowledge of Linux shared Filesystems. ( GFS, VCFS,OCFS).
Expert-level knowledge and relevant technical infrastructure areas (e.g. DNS, NIS, NFS, X11R6, CIFS, SSL, SMTP, HTTP/S, RPC, LDAP, SAN, NAS).
Knowledge of large-scale enterprise systems, such as HPs Virtual Server Environment (VSE), and high-availability cluster configurations (e.g.Veritas , RAC ,Cluster Suite, Red Hat Clustering, MC ServiceGuard).
Mastery of systems analysis and design.
Expert-level knowledge of relevant network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, NFS, NTP, OSI, VPN, NAT, TLA).
Ability to script in shell and/or Perl.
Solid understanding of internal customer business, goals and objectives, strategies, and needs.
Solid understanding of multiple operating systems such as Linux RedHat Suse.

Information Technology Operations experience (e.g. ITIL)
Ability to optimize and tune Linux systems for specific processes.
