The Commvault Enterprise Backup engineer is expected to have a lead role in all aspects of Commvault infrastructure and Simpanna 7.0 /8.0 software and console operation and administration work. The qualified candidate must possess strong written and interpersonal skills and must be able to work under tight schedule and deadlines. The tasks and responsibilities includes but not limited to the following:
The installation, configuration, administration and troubleshooting Simpanna CommServ servers, Mediagent servers, iData Agent clients and applications.
In depth knowledge of Commvault Data retention storage policy; replication policy; backup schedule policy; subclient and VaultTracker polices.
In depth knowledge of Commvault auxiliary copy.
In depth knowledge of Network Storage Router (NSR) configurations, mappings and EMC virtual disk library.
Participate in the design and implementation of a strong Business continuity solution for the organization.
Providing infrastructure design, analytical and galaxy administration services to application development projects.
Work closely with operating system and database administrators to define platform requirements, measure performance, carry out disk and tapes capacity planning, define security standards and implement them.
Expected to perform R & D activities and manage Infrastructure technical projects.
Required Experience
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commvault Galaxy/Simpanna and related backup/recovery technologies.
Strong Experience with Network Storage Router (NSR) (specifically HP Network Storage Router M2402 and Crossroad Network Storage Router 6240)
Strong Experience with StorageTech, SUN and Oracle physical tapes libraries preferably using L700e SDLT 320/220 tapes libraries and STK SL-3000 LTO4 tapes library.
Strong Experience with EMC virtual disk library.
Strong experience with Business Continuity and Disaster recovery implementations in the Commvault environments.
Strong Experience in installation and administration of Simpanna CommServ, Mediagent and iDataagent clients
Strong Experience with Java application servers
Experience working on UNIX and Windows platforms.
Experience working on Data archiver and deduplication solutions
