Position: APPLICATION DEVELOPER

Location: Baltimore, MD

Level: mid-level, 4-6+ years experience

Description: long-term contract

 

H1 and C2C is ok for this position.

 

Our client is currently looking for an Application Developer with excellent skills in Core Java and Oracle DB to support existing functionality and development of new processes. The candidate should be technically strong and be able to get requirements from the users and work independently to take that requirement to implementation through all phases of development.  To be effective, the developer must have excellent communication skills, ability to understand data flows and broad functionality of other systems and able to interact with other IT teams.

Requirements:

 

*        Strong Core Java skills

 

*        Java 1.5 and up (No J2EE needed)

 

*        Strong Oracle skills

 

o    PL/SQL

 

o    Tuning

 

*        Apache POI

 

*        Apache HTTP Commons

 

*        Ability to understand various protocols and message format is essential

 

*        Ability to find creative solutions when options are limited

 

*        Excellent communication skills

 

*        Able to deliver under pressure

 

*        Ability to communicate technical content to non-technical audiences

 

*        Ability to take non-technical requirements and implement it technically.

 

*        Ability to be effective in a highly matrixed environment

 

*        Ability to communicate and collaborate in a multi-cultural environment

 

*        B.S in Computer Science, engineering or similar field

 

*        4 to 6 years experience in IT Application Development/Delivery

 

*        At least 3 years' experience doing enhancements and support for large systems
