Job Description:



Targeted Skills & Competencies:


* Technical lead who can lead (not project manage) a team of technical resources, collaborate with technical resources in other teams, has the technical depth in the below disciplines and has the soft skills, energy and drive to be successful. These are CW roles with the option to go full time. * Minimum of 8 years of experience software development Minimum of 3 years as a technical lead handling a team of at least 5 people.

* Champion in Agile software development methodology Experience with JIRA or Jazz RTC

* Experience with J2EE, Web Services, Good knowledge of Application and System integration, Data Replication techniques Solid knowledge of OO design and programming Strong, in depth knowledge and experience in Spring MVC, Beans, Spring Web Services Experience in developing for Weblogic Application Server Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Energetic and thriving.

 

Expected Responsibilities:


* Oversee and interface with a strategic Vendor partner, responsible for the technical oversight of a number of Functional teams within the Vendor space.

* Oversee creation and approval of technical documentation including the Solution Definition document and Technical Design document; ensure documentation is aligned to the Functional Requirements and uses document templates that meet SDLC standards ?.

* Identify and manage dependencies and downstream impacts of the project to minimize adverse effects on other projects and / or programs ?Manage day to day technical challenges and communicate to project manager any risks or issues associated with the development activities ?

* Mentor development staff through the technical challenges ?

* Assist Project manager with the estimation of technical timelines and allocation of the technical resources to specific task ?.

* Identify technical resource gap and address the gap by either acquiring or preferably by developing the skill set within the institution ?

* Coordinate coding and unit testing phases of system development and facilitate Code Reviews ?

* Identify opportunities for system reuse and system simplification ?.

* Communicate Expectations, Roles and Responsibilities to team members and hold them accountable to meet the expectations ?.

* Collaborate with IT partners to devise capacity plan and ensure appropriate infrastructure for the end to end system delivery ?.

* Facilitate regular communication with IT and business partners using various methods to monitor progress toward project goals/milestones, task status, and identify/address issues


Tasks and Responsibilities:


* Provide management leadership in the end to end design, development and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services. Responsible for meeting development schedules and delivering high quality solutions that meet technical specifications and design requirements.

* Lead the specification and software design phases of the software development life cycle. May manage the design and implementation of new software development and enhancement efforts and software testing with other technologists


Suggested Experience & Qualifications:


* Technical Leader to help lead and manage large channel delivery project technical resources (500K 3 M range).

* Technology skills should include expertise in JEE frameworks, , UCM and SOA.
