Job Description:

The Oracle SOA  Architect is responsible for the production and ongoing support of SOA high level designs in close collaboration with the Oracle SOA Solutions Architect , and ensuring that these designs are consistent with the Architecture vision and overall SOA standards.

The architect should be able to articulate the functional requirements, conceptualizes and experiment with alternative architectural approaches, understand and apply industry standard design patterns, create models and component and interface specification documents, and validate the architecture against business requirements and assumptions

The Oracle SOA technical architect is also responsible for defining or updating core standards when required and should always enforce design time and run time governance.

The candidate will also ensure that the infrastructure topology and architecture across all environments are suitable to accommodate the requirements (functional and non-functional).

The successful SOA Technical architect will also serve as a technical lead supporting the SOA Designer and other members of the team in planning and estimation activities.

Responsible for producing suitable SOA Service Specs for the Oracle SOA 11g platform that comply with the set standards and policies (including data design activities), providing guidance and partial leadership to developers, coordinating common development lifecycle tasks such as creation of release bundles, release notes, configuration requirements, capturing potential issues and risks and notifying these to the technical lead.

The Designer is also responsible for ensuring that SOA assets are re-used whenever applicable thus ensuring that no duplication of functionality takes place.
