JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Drupal User Interface Engineer for our client in Reston, VA.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Drupal UI engineer builds content-focused backend and front end solutions in PHP on a LAMP stack using Drupal. They are an expert in PHP 5.3 and Drupal 6 and 7, with significant knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and jQuery. Ideal Drupal UI Engineers will have experience with large enterprise software projects, from conception to delivery to testing. This position will interact closely with project management, designers, and software engineers to shape project requirements and guide projects through completion.

INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to problem solve on a white board using hand-written pseudo-code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP). Must understand basic Drupal and PHP functions without needing a computer for reference. Must have created at least one theme from scratch. Must know how to modify a Module. Preference will be given to candidates that have written modules from scratch.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build, test, deploy and maintains front-end code for web pages and applications in Drupal using PHP, HTML5, CSS3, javascript and jQuery.

Plan, create, test, deploy and maintains MySQL databases.

Manage projects and coordinate with other stakeholders.

Participate in project planning and estimating.

Works tightly with other members of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

5+ years of professional experience in web development or a related field.

3+ years of professional experience in web development or a related field using PHP

3+ years of professional experience with Drupal

Related Skills & Other Requirements:

Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS

Expert knowledge of PHP

Expert knowledge of Drupal, with some experience in Drupal 7

Experience using javascript and jQuery with Drupal

Significant Javascript knowledge

Significant jQuery knowledge

Experience with XML and JSON

Knowledge of accessibility
