Takes high level business and functional requirements and maps to a logical and physical database design to support business functions. Understands key business relationships entities
Role and responsibilities:
" Support the development teams as well as the business through all phases of the project (Initiation, development support, and production troubleshooting)
" Work with vendors (specifically IBM) to raise problem tickets and partner with them through the resolution of every issue. Includes deploying Fix patches on all our Infosphere servers.
" Develop conceptual and detailed architectural plans, and work with internal and external resources to drive the plans to completion.
" Lead the ETL and MetaData Management
" Lead the administration of the Infosphere suite of tools specifically related to MetaData management, data discovery and mining.
" Evaluate and select technical solutions based on business requirements and standards.
" Research and present industry best practices to IT and business stakeholders at all levels.
Skills and Experience:
" Strong experience with DataStage, Quality Stage, Business Glossary, Metadata Workbench, FastTrack, Discovery and Information Analyzer. Experience with Version 8.0 or higher preferred " Strong experience in Oracle, UNIX and ERWIN Data Modelling.
" Strong experience in developing strategies for managing metadata
" Strong understanding of the Metadata repository and how it ties into all the Infosphere components.
" Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
" Strong experience with technical team leadership required.
" Strong understanding of software development life cycle methodologies required.
" Solid experience troubleshooting complex tasks and processes required.
" Solid experience with change management processes required.
" Experience with Cognos a plus.
