Description:
This position will work with Health System and Clinical and Translation Science Center data management applications, which includes, Oracle, SQL Server, various open-source applications, the Business Objects Suite (Universe, Webi, Crystal Reports) and select vendor and custom interface engines.
A major responsibility of the SQL Programmer will be to investigate, design, and implement data systems in preparation for assigned projects and/or for use within clinical research.
Manage data source acquisition, ETL (extract, transform, load) processes, and application development for a variety of projects.
Will also aggregate and report information from multiple clinical data systems.
Requirements
--Demonstrated experience with data integration, data repository design, and management of enterprise data repository systems.
--Extensive experience writing Stored Procedures.
--Experience developing and designing requirements appropriate to the business needs and objectives.
--Experience in analyzing and evaluating specifications; and then designing and creating custom SQL code to meet objectives.
--Experience in developing innovative coding solutions and design requirements to resolve complex business issues.
--Demonstrated experience with data interface engines in an enterprise environment
--Experience developing, implementing and supporting data warehouses.
--Experience in developing reporting and analytics for internal and external use in a business unit.
--Advanced experience working with database design, information modeling
--Demonstrated organizational skills and flexibility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
--Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems, and negotiate services and/or agreements.
--Writing skills needed to translate system processes and associated manual processes into clear instructions and explanations.
--Comprehensive understanding of and experience managing and implementing the software development lifecycle
--Extensive experience with the following is mandatory:
SQL, PL/SQL, or MySQL
Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL)
View Creation /Report Writing
--Experience with the following is preferred:
Oracle 10g (or similar) with PL/SQL
Business Objects Suite
HL7
Special Requirements
A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business, Healthcare, or any job related field is required.
