Position: Data Modeler (Ref code: 101414-NICHRI-IO35-JOH)

Location: Herndon, VA

Duration: 6+ months

Interview Process: Phone Interview / Onsite, in-person interview (must be able to attend an in-person interview if requested)

 

Must Have's:

Logical Data Modeling experience using a Data Modeling tool;
Physical Data Modeling experience using a Data Modeling tool;
Experience with Relational 3NF;
Experience with Data Warehousing/Marts;
Experience with data analysis.

Preferred:
Experience with ER Studio;
Mortgage or Securities Industry domain knowledge;
Knowledge of data management standards and data governance practices;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Ability to build consensus, present technical concepts to a non-technical audience; influence/make recommendations to various constituents.

Need to understand physical and logical data models, be able to communicate with business team and technical, need to be able to break down requirements, be able to interpret requirements/ database knowledge. Plus requirements: mortgage loans/securities, tested applications, read SQL, STAR Schema.  Need to Excellent communications and written skills.

 

Detail:
Analyze business and technical requirements and transform them into corresponding conceptual, logical and physical data models;
Design relational and dimensional models using ER Studio;
Perform development (new) or maintenance (legacy) work on logical and physical data models, data dictionaries, and other artifacts to maintain currency with corporate standards, integration with Enterprise Data Architecture and company goals;
Ensure that all artifacts be developed according to SDLC standards and procedures;
Conduct data modeling sessions with business users and technical staff.
