DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Security Administrators role is to ensure the secure operation of the in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections. This includes monitoring and administering server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans, and troubleshooting issues. This person will also conduct user activity audits where required, analyze and resolve security incidents and VULNERABILITY issues in a timely and accurate fashion and conduct research using external VULNERABILITIES data bases and security sites.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES COULD INCLUDE:
Administration and monitoring of security tools, coordination of penetration testing and VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENTS and resolution of discovered problems, conducting assessments of IT security controls, collecting information for security metrics, assistance with IT audits and risk assessments, coordination of recertification of all access privileges. This is accomplished with general supervision and a broad scope for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Day-to-Day maintenance of existing systems
Apply vulnerability assessments
Run Vulnerability scanners and address issues
MUST HAVES:
7+ years of Security Administration
Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), DLP tools, log management tools and other industry-standard techniques and practices
Must have CISSP Certification
In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows and Linux Redhat
Hands-on experience with All versions of SQL (Up to 2012)
Hands-on experience with Checkpoint Firewalls
Understanding of Firewall Logs and Vulnerability
Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols
Hands-on experience with devices such as hubs, switches, and routers
Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection
DESIRABLES:
Checkpoint Firewall Certification
Cisco Firewall experience
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
