Job Title: Java with SOA/Web Services (021914-JAYAST-IO32-E-KEV)

Location: Chelsea, MA

Duration: 6+ months contract

Job Description:

The IDS project consists of designing and building enterprise services to be provided

by our client for consumption by external business partners.

The candidate will be an expert in software development methodologies and skilled in

several programming languages and be capable of designing, building, testing and documenting software.

The candidate will work with a small team of architects and developers and be tasked

with building services as well as mentoring junior team members.

 

Major roles and responsibilities for this position include:

Design web services interfaces using both synchronous (SOAP/HTTP) and asynchronous (SOAP/JMS) patterns

Specify web services interfaces using WSDL and XML Schemas

Design and implement Web Services using a variety of Java EE technologies, including JAXB, JAX-WS and JPA

Devise and conduct unit tests

Coordinate and support acceptance testing by the appropriate end user personnel

Mentor junior team members

Support QA initiatives through database analysis and scripting

 

Required Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent experience

Strong communications skills to support daily interactions with business users and other applications staff

 

7+ years experience in:

Java/JEE Fundamentals

Java Programming

5+ years experience in:

SOA/Web Services

Spring Framework

Hibernate or comparable JPA framework

UML (Unified Modeling Language)

OOD (Object Oriented Design)

WebSphere Application Server

SQL, PL/SQL (ORACLE)

Strong knowledge of relational database design

Experience working in an Oracle 11g database environment is a plus

Experience working with ETL (specifically Oracle ODI) and Replication tools as well as experience

with business intelligence software, such as Cognos or Business Objects, is a plus
