Job Description:

The Principal Engineer will be part of the BillPay team and help develop, test and deploy the new generation components/applications for the BillPay product.  Given the short timeline, candidates should be fast learners and able to work from very high level requirements. There is going to be lot of technical discovery as we progress through the project and candidates should be able to adapt to the changing requirements very quickly. Candidates should be selfstarters, able to work with minimal supervision and at the same time stay engaged and collaborate heavily with other team members across the globe.

Essential Functions:

* Analyze requirements and prepare technical design documents

* Develop software according to the designs

* Develop automated unit tests and functionality tests

* Participate in production release and troubleshoot production issues

* Performs other duties as assigned

Educational background:

* Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

* 10 years in an IT related field with relevant experience

Desired Qualifications:

* 6+ years of progressively complex, full SDLC experience using J2EE technologies and Spring/Hibernate

* Strong skills in requirements analysis, design and programming

* Solid understanding of OOD, design patterns, and multitier architecture for web applications

* Familiarity with one of Java web development frameworks, Struts, Spring MVC, JSF, GWT, etc, and one of test frameworks such as JUnit, JWebUnit, Selenium, HtmlUnit, etc.

* Strong web development skills, including HTML, XML, CSS, and JavaScript

* Solid knowledge of open source technologies, Linux, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, Eclipse.

* Familiarity with broad spectrum of Web 2.0 technologies, principles of UI design, crossbrowser optimization/enhancement, and Web Services APIs (SOAP, REST)

* Basic programming skills in SQL and stored procedures, preferably using Oracle and/or SQL Server

* Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum

* Ability to work under pressure and produce results in a fastpaced environment

* Ability to multitask with excellent time management skills

* Ability to learn fast and adapt to everchanging environment

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Must have a positive and a cando attitude

* Must be a self-motivator and be able to work with minimal direction
