Targeted Skills & Competencies

Must be an expert in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL development and tuning, ETL development using IBM Datastage.

Knowledge in UNIX scripts, SIEBEL data model, Autosys Scheduler scripting etc.. will be an added advantage.

Role & Responsibilities

Work with various product developers, product managers, and customer application experts to create software modules containing required features and modifications.

Participate in Analysis, design, development, testing and implementation. Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.

Implement designs following software development processes to ensure adherence to design objectives and performs evaluations and code reviews throughout the development phase. Ensure design,

structure, and content meet performance guidelines; may assist with test planning and testing.

Develop detailed documentation including Functional and Technical design documents, Test Cases, Support documentation, migration and installation steps, release notes, mapping documents etc.

Provide high-level analysis and design reviews to solve conceptual problems and avoid duplication of efforts within the development group.

Analyze the performance of current code as well as new code to ensure reasonable performance is met.

Communicate with all levels of staff with regard to technical concepts and design in order to create the best product which meets all of the customer requirements.

May communicate with clients and project teams on problem resolution, design issues, and technical implementations.

Understand and evaluate the technical strategy and/or architectural options available to provide solutions.

Provide technical advice to other departments within the organization, and may be responsible for integrating components built by product developers.

Work under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment.

Qualifications and Requirements

Should be a good Team player.

Four to five years of PL/SQL development experience.

Two to three years of ETL job development using datastage.

Bachelors Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent highly preferred.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret design documents and agile stories. Ability to respond to common inquiries or issues from internal departments and external customers.

Ability to determine deliverables for application documentation (i.e. data mapping template, installation guide, release notes)

Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
