Job Title: Dimensional Data Modeler / Data Architect (52215-NARLRA-IO52-E-ARI)
Location: Lake Buena Vista, FL
Duration: 6+ months
Emp.Type: W2/1099

 

 

 

Job Description:
1. Strong grasp of Third Normal Form data modeling.
2. Very strong expertise in dimensional modeling.
3. At least 2 years experience in dimensional modeling.
4. Understands and can think through alternative ways of implementing requirements using different dimensional modeling approaches and patterns.
5. Strong knowledge of data modeling patterns and industry standard representations, particularly for the Hospitality business.
6. Experience with Data Modeling tools, particular ERwin or Embarcadero ER Studio. We use the latter here.
7. Partners effectively with appropriate Architects on projects and programs.
8. Partners with Project Teams to ensure requirements are properly captured.
9. Addresses issues of data re-use weighing advantages and disadvantages of centralization and replication.
10. Accurately represents the requirements for assigned projects in a logical data model.
11. Delivers conceptual, logical and physical data models that align with Enterprise view.
12. Delivers logical and physical data models that align with WDP&R Data Architecture Standards.
13. Provides conceptual, logical and physical data models to Lead Data Architect or person identified by Lead Data Architect for review and approval. Models are provided for review at least one week prior to delivery date to project or program team. If model is not approved, then delivery of data model to project or program team is delayed until model is approved. Preliminary models can be released to project or program team for practical reasons, but models must be marked as preliminary and Data Architect must clearly communicate to recipients of model that they are preliminary.
14. Ability to review data models and be responsibility for aligning with provided standards.
15. Performs analysis and design with a broad enterprise perspective.
16. Ensures dimensional modeling aligns with an enterprise view and meets long term needs as well as immediate project and program requirements.
17. Can quickly achieve an in-depth understanding of the business areas relating to assigned projects.
18. Enforces the strategic data vision through logical and physical data models.
19. Enforces use of high quality attribute and entity definitions in requirement documents and data models.
20. Ensures that DDL generated from data models is appropriately controlled and provided by following processes that are transparent, reliable and repeatable.
