Position: MS SQL Server Database Administrator III (REF CODE: 121712-MARSAL-IO35E-JOH)

Required Skills

Seeking to hire an experienced Senior SQL Server database Administrator. This candidate is expected to have a lead role in all aspects of administrating SQL Server database and related products in large scale user base. The required skills include but not limited to the following:

Strong experience in performance tuning of applications and capacity planning.
Strong Experience in writing scripts / programs specific to SQL server DBA activity
Working knowledge of supporting SQL SSIS and Reporting package.
Thorough understanding of High Availability Technology using database clustering and database mirroring.
Working experience with Sybase and Oracle database environments
Knowledge of ETL technologies, preferably Informatica
Knowledge of Reporting technologies, preferably IBM Cognos
Experience in supporting IT operations using an onsite/offshore delivery model
Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.
Ability to write and maintain technical documentation and procedures
Good understanding of the Software development lifecycle
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently as well as in collaboration with a team
Ablility to take initiative and work without supervision.
Ability to work as a effective team member in a multicultural environment is must
Should have excellent interpersonal skill as well as oral and written communication skill

The required qualifications for this position are:
4-year Bachelor s degree preferably in Math, Computer Science or Engineering. Master s degree preferred
Minimum of 8 years of SQL server database administration, the majority of which should be in database administration in a large scale operation

Desired Skills:
Certification in SQL Server Database Administration a plus

Terms of Reference:
Senior SQL Server DBA is responsible for supporting and maintaining all aspects of SQL Server database and related products including ETL platforms.Perform all aspects of SQL Server database operations and administration services in accordance with established processes and guidelines. These include, but are not limited to:

Install, configure and maintain database instances / servers
Enhance database performance by query and process optimization
Maintain integrity of database by having proper backup and recovery processes
Apply database changes according to change management procedures
Carry out regular capacity planning activities
Database refresh and cloning
Perform Database Backup and Restore activities in close coordination with CBTs Backup team
Participate in security audits and compliance initiatives and ensure the database environment is fully compliant with companies security policies and internal controls.
Provide 24/7 incident response for companies production environment thru established escalation processes
Perform R & D activities and manage Infrastructure technical projects.

Should be flexible to work in shifts and week ends on need basis in close co-ordination with onsite and offshore team as well as with end users across the globe, in a multi vendor / service provider environment.
Creation and maintenance of technical documents as per standards followed by the company
Mentoring and guiding junior staff
Provide necessary performance related reports including KPIs as per request by the companys supervisory staff
