Responsibilities:

Gentran SME will translate application and project deliverables and requirements into specific tasks for implementation.

Monitors performance, availability and capacity of all equipment and identifying/reporting potential concerns to management.

Acts as a senior team member for projects requiring file transfer capabilities with moderate budget and short to intermediate time duration.

Functions as a single point of contact for assigned file transfer applications.

Design, analyze, and implement file transfer solutions based on project or application requirements.

Identifies root cause of issues and guides team to holistic solutions.

Provides resource estimates to accomplish assigned deliverables.

Provides business focused technical leadership expertise to support application design, management and transformation.

Contributes to incident resolution by diagnosing and troubleshooting the incidents, gathering additional information, follows change control processes, updates incident tickets with current information, proactively documenting status for each incident ticket, escalating issues to other technical resources and/or management as appropriate, and participates/monitors the resolution and/or root cause analysis process.

Assist with specific compliance issues from both a technical and business perspective.

Coordinates with release management organization to control release of patches/upgrades to the application infrastructure.

Provides file transfer architecture, design, troubleshooting and support in a multi-site, multi-tier systems environment.

Develops and documents standard operating procedures for end users and operations personnel. Develops and documents system documentation.

Develops reports.

Maintains understanding of software industry and provides direction for further solutions.

The position will be responsible to provide on-call support in a 24/7 environment for complex production impacting technical issues and work to troubleshoot and restore service.

 

Required Skills:

Experience with file transfer products, specifically Sterling Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) / IBM-Sterling Integrator (SI) cluster environment.

Minimum 10 years? experience in creating and implementing communication protocols such as Connect: Direct, HTTPs, FTP, SFTP, & FTPS, AS2 & AS3 within Sterling Integrator.

Experience in Mapping and Translation in Sterling Integrator.

Experience leading technical teams, managing file transfer projects, and working as a subject matter expert for the IBM/Sterling B2B Integration platform
Experience with IBM/Sterling Connect Direct in Mainframe.

Experience as a Unix/Linux system administrator, network administrator, and/or application support role in IT operations.

Proficient in creating, testing and implementing business process workflows in Business Process Modeling Language (BMPL/XML).

Experience in upgrade/patch installation in IBM Sterling Integrator and ControlCenter.

Proficient in designing, troubleshooting and supporting a multi-site, multi-tier systems environment, with corporate data center facilities.

Experience with IBM Connect: Direct, TIBCO MFT, CommandCenter, Oracle, SQL, MySQL.

Experience scripting in PERL, UNIX, JAVA.

Strong analytical/communication skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

Able to work independently and with a team to provide IT- and business-specific knowledge and expertise, and create solutions that are aligned.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
