Position: Cognos Admin
Location: Woodlawn (Baltimore), MD
Description: contract opportunity
***Candidates must be strictly ADMINS for this role, not a developer/admin
mix in their career***

Description:
* Experience with Cognos software installation and support
with the understanding of how it runs and the interaction of the pieces.
This includes such software modules as Impromptu, ReportNet, Framework
Manager, etc.
* The Cognos Admin responsible for planning, conducting, and
directing the analysis and implementation of Cognos system integrations,
empowering and training users in Cognos, and helping to ensure the ongoing
support, development, and maintenance of the Cognos tool.
* The incumbent of this position possesses strong analysis
skills with the ability to identify, review, and evaluate existing data
structures.
* He/she must apply a broad knowledge of the principles,
practices, and procedures related to the Cognos environment and usually work
with minimum supervision

Responsibilities:
* Coordinate with project team members and vendor to ensure timely,
accurate, and complete delivery of committed tasks.
* Promote and ensure appropriate use of the Cognos.
* Develop and deliver Cognos presentations and trainings.
* May be assisted by Entry Level personnel and usually reports to
or works with a Senior Level specialist.
* Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality
and ingenuity.
* Adheres to applicable CMMI policies and procedures.
* Responsible for providing recommendations for improving the
clients CMMI standard processes and procedures for area of responsibility.

Experience Requirements:
* 4+ years Cognos Administration and Development Experience
* Solutions for development of cubes, dashboards and reports using
Cognos
* Cognos Administration to include: Installation and Configuration;
LDAP and AD Security configuration, Performance Management.
* Constructing data decomposition diagrams, providing data flow
diagrams and documenting the process.
* Identifying and documenting data quality issues and data
patterns.
* Writing code for database access, modification and construction
including stored procedures.
* Familiarity with a variety of the field concepts, practices and
procedures. Ability to rely on instruction and pre-established guidelines to
perform function of the job.
* Experience using other Business Intelligence Reporting/Querying
tools as well various ETL Tools. (Examples- Informatica, MicroStrategy, and
Business Objects) would be beneficial.

Required Skills:
* Strong SQL skills
* Experience working on multiple platforms (Oracle, DB2, SQL
Server, Teradata)
* Demonstrating some capability in: OLAP, Reporting, and/or
Modeling
* Contributing to the creation and delivery of presentations to
project teams
* Performing a variety of tasks with some degree of creativity and
latitude.
* Good understanding of database structures, theories, principles,
and practices
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Good team player; works well with others

Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field is
required or three (3) years of directly related professional experience may
be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree requirement



Position: Senior Web Developer
Location: Woodlawn (Baltimore), MD

**Must have solid Java skills; at least one of the three openings is looking
for architecture skills and experience leading a development project**
Responsibilities:

* We are seeking a Web Developer (WD) supporting a Federal agency
that is in the process of migrating from the existing Adobe architecture to
a system that is web-based. The new software must provide the agency with a
reliable, scalable architecture that permits users to access the system via
the SSA Intranet. In addition, the software should provide the ability to
leverage current agency technologies and be capable of adding functionality
using standard development tools (e.g. HTML, Java, and JavaScript). There
are two major efforts:
1) Refactoring and development of a system architecture to prepare
for Production rollout; and,
2) Conversion of existing forms to HTML-based forms used in the new
application.
* The WD interacts with the customer and reviews requirements
documentation, and interacts with the customer to glean and assess
requirements. Subsequently, applies required skills to develop and unit test
web-based code. The WD develops weekly status reports to report
accomplishments.

Requirements:

* Project Management skills.
* Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication
skills and be able to effectively work with the customer.
* Ability to mentor other web developers.
* Experience designing and implementing enterprise architectures.

* The Senior Java Developer will demonstrate extensive knowledge
and experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting complex
enterprise level applications and other system software using SOA
principles, strong working knowledge of server administration, and database
concepts, and superior oral and written communications skills to effectively
convey progress, issues, reports, and other customer deliverables with
clarity and value. Evaluate requirements and provide design and development
solutions. Works without technical oversight, and possibly as the leader of
a team as required. Mentor and train junior developers.

Requirements:

* 11+ years IT Software development experience in Java
* Demonstrated technical leadership proficiency, coupled with
exceptional strategic and critical thinking skills
* Must be creative, innovative and able to provide original
concepts and designs for complex architecture
* Demonstrated proficiency to create and maintain technical
documentation of architecture, high and low level design documents for
applications development

Position: Sr. Java Developer/Architect
Location: Woodlawn (Baltimore), MD
Description: long-term contract opportunity
Responsibilities:

* The Senior Java/Web Services Programmer shall have extensive
experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting applications and
computer/network operating system and other system software.
* Has prime accountability for major projects and will develop
detailed and robust requirements, code, test, and implement proposed
systems.
* Hands-on experience with projects supporting Service Oriented
Architecture principles.
* Works without technical oversight or as the leader of a team as
required.
* May serve as a Work Order Manager or Back-up Work Order Manager.

* Shall also possess strong oral and written communications skills
in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other
deliverables to SSA counter parts.

Requirements:

* Experience with J2EE technologies such as Core Java, JSP,
