Location: Remote/Springfield, VA (occasional travel to VA)

POSITION SUMMARY:
EXPERIS currently has a need for a candidate who will support the Data Management Team for a contract opportunity. This Data Architect position will work in a fast-paced, high-energy, large program to transform and modernize legacy software systems through the re-engineering of business processes to meet futuristic customer demands. Through this effort, will be responsible for full system development life cycle, migration of legacy systems to the cloud, and the re-engineering of legacy processes into a business-driven enterprise solution.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analysis of legacy hosting environment establishing "as-is" configuration. Design and implementation of "to-be" hosting configuration within AWS environment meeting and exceeding all FedRAM/NIST-800 53 requirements using primarily Oracle RDBMS as the source and destination technologies. Support of transition of legacy applications from current hosting ("as-is") to new AWS hosting ("to-be") environment. Support data governance policies, data transformation, cleansing and consolidation as part of the enterprise modernization efforts. Support the implementation of emerging technologies such as Hadoop, MapR, Hive, NoSQL, Paxata, Pentaho and others to reduce operating costs and improve quality of service as part of the modernization efforts.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 8 years of general experience.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Deep understanding of RDBMS principles. Strong experience at the enterprise level within both development and hosting domains in a "system-of-systems" environment primarily leveraging Oracle RDBMS. Deep understanding of emerging technical trends such as Hadoop, MapR, NoSQL, Hive, ETL, data analysis and transformation with tools such as Paxata, Pentaho and others.
