Job Description:
The candidate should have good analytical skills to troubleshoot problems that arise in the WLS environment. Experience with WebLogic Coherence is desirable.
Job Duties:
Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications in the WLS environments, and work with Oracle to resolve open Service Requests (SRs)
Coordinates with client management to formulate highly complex technical solutions
Identifies and implements solutions based on client needs. Informs client management of appropriate developments in technical support products
Provides technical leadership to internal and external personnel on highly complex system installation processes
Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced personnel
Provides technical leadership to appropriate personnel on highly complex system administration activities
Provides technical solutions and escalated support for non-routine, highly complex technical issues
Evaluates products and upgrades for appropriateness of cost and compatibility. Oversees and implements system upgrade strategies
Develops and analyzes highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance. Initiates reviews as appropriate
Conducts capacity planning reviews with management and approves capacity plans formulated by less experienced personnel
Develops strategies to manage the frequency of appropriate support package/patch application
Implements solutions and refines procedures as appropriate
Coordinates with business development personnel on proposals and work estimates involving highly complex system administration projects and solutions
Researches current systems technology and serves as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and procedures
Skill Requirements:
Must have experience creating implementation plans, operations run books and processes for a successful deployment of WebLogic Server (WLS) on Linux
servers in a virtualized environment
Must have hands-on experience installing and configuring WLS Clusters on Linux with WLS Coherence experience is a plus
Must have hands-on experience creating change management processes for deploying applications within the application server infrastructure
Oracle WebLogic Server administration and system experience is a must
Deep hands-on project experience with WebLogic Server administration is a must
Must have hands-on experience working with WLS 11g Release 1 (10.3.4)
4-6 years of experience in WebLogic Server Administration and some applications development/support within a large organization
Knowledge of Java is helpful, in so far as to be able to support developers who use those languages and to develop small support applications to streamline day to day operations
Strong experience in supporting enterprise mission critical applications through a high availability WLS architecture which exploits Coherence-based clustering and workload distribution
Professional Requirements:
Professional consulting experience and background required (federal government experience is a plus)
Proven strong innovative and analytical ability with extensive implementation experience
Must be a team player and have excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have a B.S. in Computer Science or related area of study and be eligible to work in the United States
Must be fully competent to work under general direction on complex projects usually on specific assigned projects, issues and problems
Several projects will usually be active at the same time, so the ability to multitask is essential to success for this position
