Job Title: Network Analyst
Location: San Ramon, CA
Duration: Long Term

 

Job Description:

Responsible for the operation of the enterprise systems and services, network topology, and the communication links to support the corporate network. This role includes: installation, configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning and troubleshooting. You will work within a Network Operations support team to design and optimize usage of the Network and Facilities.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Planning:
Keep customers informed of changes or scheduled down times using corporate change management procedures
Developing detailed implementation and work effort plans.

Execution:
Responsible for the smooth implementation of all hardware and software changes.
Ensure conversion plans are properly tested prior to implementation.
Work with non-technical groups to define network requirements for new implementations, while ensuring that all standards and best practices are followed.

 

Technical Support:
Handle various aspects of technical support for problem analysis and determination.
Ensure day to day technical problems are dealt with quickly and efficiently or otherwise escalated to the appropriate areas within IT.
Diagnose, support, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Install, maintain and upgrade hardware and peripheral equipment.
Perform routine operation duties such as infrastructure check lists, management and audit reporting, backup and restore of files and systems when required.
Troubleshooting switching and routing problems.
Wireless networking configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring.
Address and resolve assigned trouble tickets.
Provide incident and problem support.
Provide packet captures and analysis.
Use tools provided to aid in network diagnostics
Knowledge of current networking technology, including but not limited to Cisco switches and routers
Knowledge of Cisco Wireless LAN environment
Knowledge of other supported environments and how they are integrated.
Ability to supervise, monitor and coordinate activities of multiple vendors
Ability to use good judgment in difficult, high-pressure situations and equipment failures.
Ensure accuracy of network documentation

Other:
After hours or evening work as required.
Other related duties as required.

 

Qualifications:
3 to 5 years' experience in WAN/LAN Technologies.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Cisco Switches, Routers, ASA Firewall & VPN, Network Monitoring tools, and Network protocols - OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and TCP/IP.
Network certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CISSP etc. are definite assets.
Cisco technologies includes but are not limited to HSRP, VTP,STP,VSS,VPC,

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with end-users, at both technical and non-technical levels.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required.
Excellent interpersonal skills with any ability to work as a team member.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
Ability to resolve minor conflicts and knowing when to escalate.
Ability to facilitate small to medium group meetings for technical design, problem solving and task implementation.
