Microstrategy Tester.
MClean ,VA
Duration: 6 months
Rate $60/hr.

Need to be citizen/GC/EAD for eligibility . This is not a C2C position/

Lead the effort to validate MicroStrategy upgrade from version 8.1 to 9.0.2.
Ensure that the existing reports developed in version 8.1 continue to
function as expected in the new upgraded MicroStrategy 9.0.2 infrastructure.
Come up with efficient test strategies to minimize the level of effort
without compromising coverage. Work with business and development to
identify the impacts and requirements around existing reports. Build an
automation framework in order to validate hundreds of reports. Consults with
client and IT management and staff throughout the project life cycle, to
assist and support the design, development and implementation of effective
systems.

Create standard test strategy, tests plans and test scripts. Prepares and
conducts acceptance testing of new or modified applications/systems.
Participate in the review of new QA software and consults with IT staff and
client areas in resolving questions during the testing process. Works with
client and IT management and staff to establish and maintain a consistent
test methodology. Works under limited direction independently determines and
develops approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion for
adequacy in satisfying objectives. Interact with senior customer personnel
on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across
organizational lines. Ensure test strategy meets defined end-user
(functional) and system (non-functional) requirements. Execute test cases
and provide metrics and updates. Document test results and coordinate with
peers on testing activities.

skill: Mid-level (3-7 yrs)

skills: 4 plus years related experience as a tester and/or programmer, with
at least three years experience as a back-end tester using reporting tools
such as MicroStrategy.
3 plus years experience with Test Management (preferably Quality Center) and
Defect Tracking tools (preferably Rational), training and/or experience with
tool administration functions preferred.
Strong Test script Automation skills, including but not limited to QTP and
Load Runner
Understands SQL troubleshooting in the context of MicroStrategy reporting;
Strong knowledge of MicroStrategy project design.
Experience with MicroStrategy 8.x and 9.x as a developer and/or tester.
Integrity Manager, Vendor certifications preferred.
Experience with MicroStrategy Reports validation in general.
Experience with Automated Reports validation
Ability to demonstrate database concepts and data retrieval through complex
queries.
Good understanding of fundamental test design principles, techniques and
strategies.
Experience with infrastructure level projects such as system upgrades,
platform and technology migrations; Knowledge of Operating Systems,
Middleware and Database technologies
Good understanding of Risk based testing and regression strategies that
focus on efficiency.
Ability to conduct a wide range of tests and analysis with full competency
to ensure that software, systems, and services meet minimum company
standards
Ability to create test cases and test data using HPQC tools
Ability to create and update the RTM as required.
Strong verbal, written, leadership, communication, attention to detail, and
analytical/problem-solving skills required
CSQE, CSTE, CSQA or equivalent professional testing certification is a plus.
