Responsibilities:
Self-motivated to analyze existing code and provide technical leadership and direction in design, integration and development and support existing client server and batch applications.
Migrating exiting application architectures to new batch server and new SQL Server database
Assists the Team Supervisor in establishing standards and guidelines for both online and batch applications and assists in assuring adherence in the day to day work of application solutions and delivery.
Analyze business requirements for system modifications and develop systems solutions expressed through a technical design document to meet the user's needs.
Formulate time estimates for the completion of tasks and report on status.
Provide second level technical support as required. Respond to error reports by analyzing defects, developing resolutions, preparing software releases to remedy reported problems.
Education equivalent to a Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field and 5-7years experience, 5 of those years should be recent experience with batch Unix scripts, SQL, client server applications.
Experience with Eclipse based IDE's and source control systems such as CVS.
Experience with VB6 and Visual Source Safe.
Extensive experience in cross platform solutions which utilize a variety of technologies and identifying and documenting the best technical solution for each business requirement.
Demonstrated ability and experience in providing leadership for application solution development and maintenance.
Strong DBMS experience with SQL Server and project experience in migrating DBMS like Sybase to SQL Server and/or DB2 preferred.
Experience in Testing tools such as JUnit/JMeter/Load UI or other leading automated load test tools in the industry
Experience using Toad Data Point
2+years of experience with Automating Unix Shell and Batch jobs.
Excellent oral communication skills which demonstrate the ability to effectively convey and explain technical information to non-technical customers.
Excellent written communication skills which demonstrate the ability to draft clear and concise specifications and documentation.
Flexibility to provide production support for installed systems outside of normal business.
