Description:

Minimum 4 years of information architecture experience (also called user experience design or interaction design)
Minimum 4 years graphic design experience
Minimum 4 years functional management experience (in UX or Visual Design)
Strong knowledge of Drupal interface standards
Minimum 2 years experience with custom themes and user interface design within Drupal and its contributed modules (PHP files, CSS file, info file, etc.)
Self-managing - ability to work on projects to completion with a minimum of supervision
Deep experience working on large, high visibility, public-facing websites
Online design portfolio that demonstrates strong visual design skills and ability to work within established branding directions; portfolio also demonstrates experience designing for information- or technology-heavy projects and ability to work within technology constraints.
Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience working directly with Business Analysts and Developers to develop and document functional/ navigational flows
Experience developing wireframes and Functional Specifications documentation
Experience translating wireframes into final UX designs
Experience presenting to and communicating directly with clients
Experience in Usability Best Practices

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE :
A Bachelors or Masters degree in Communications or Design-related field
Knowledge of NYC Government culture
