JOB OVERVIEW

Application Production Support Engineer responsible for supporting Enterprise Data Technology production applications on a 24x7x365 on-call schedule basis. Should respond to Tier 1 escalations within agreed upon SLA. Should work with Business, Development, Quality Assurance, DBA and other support teams to co-ordinate and facilitate the scheduling, incident triage and timely resolution of production issues. Support application releases, infrastructure changes, data base modifications, data corrections and other ad-hoc production change requests.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

• Provide 24x7x365 on-call support to troubleshoot and resolve production issues with applications developed using one or more of the following: Windows, UNIX, Mainframe, SAS, Kalido, Ab-Initio, AutoSys and Oracle. Document resolution details in Knowledge repository

• Identify possible production failure scenarios for supported applications and document resolution details in Knowledge repository

• Actively participate in SDLC design, code and implementation phases and execute tested and approved run-book instructions per deployment plan

• Review, approve and execute (if appropriate) Data corrections/DBMODs and other ad-hoc production requests.

• Continuously monitor production processes and recommend process improvements to application development teams

• Review and provide FCC approvals for all change requests.

• Review and certify production activity logs - CLAM (Central Log Analysis Manager)

• Send daily management reports on time and attend daily status calls if necessary

• Create necessary defect, enhancement and/or problem tickets for issues identified in production and assign them to appropriate teams

• Review and co-ordinate daily change requests with the requestors and obtain Officers' approvals

• Create and enhance administrative, operational and technical policies and procedures, adopting Fannie Mae best practice guidelines, standards and procedures

• Respond to SOX and Internal Audit requests in a timely manner

Experience with Excel Pivot Tables

Experience with Business Intelligence Reporting Tools

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in supporting large scale production warehouses. 24x7 support experience a plus

• Strong job scheduling experience using AutoSys required

• Good programming experience with Oracle databases and very good knowledge of Unix shell scripting and Windows scripting are required. Experience with Ab-Initio or Informatica required. Knowledge of SAS, Mainframe and Kalido preferred.

• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems are must. Some knowledge of mortgage industry required; Fannie Mae products and operations preferred

• Ability to work independently and multi-task to meet critical deadlines in a rapidly changing environment

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.

• Experience with (and/or working knowledge of) ClearQuest, MercuryQualityCenter and Remedy 7 required.

• Experience in Fannie Mae's SDLC standard preferred.

• High energy, self-motivation, attention to detail, creativity, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure.

• Flexibility to work additional hours on an as needed basis to meet deadlines.
