Job Title: Java Developer (Ref Code: 010713-QUIJAN-IOM-E-SAY)

Job Description:

Design and develop enhancements (XML based) to support cashier touch screen interfaces used throughout the client enterprise.

Design and develop new programs, tools and utilities (Java and C++) for the IBM 4690 OS environment.

Support and maintain the POS ACE application / IBM 4690 OS utilizing required tools and technologies. Provide support for applications, including involvement with the SupportCenter, NOC, Infrastructure teams, and Vendors as appropriate. Provide off-hours support (24 x 7) as required.

Certify new releases of the IBM 4690 OS, SI, DIF and the ACE POS application

Track, report, investigate and resolve mission critical issues for POS reliability / availability

Lead and participate in the design and implementation of large and/or architecturally significant applications.

Develop programming specifications. Design, code and unit test application code using Software

Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices

Complete estimates and work plans independently as appropriate for design, development, implementation and rollout tasks.

Requirements:

The ideal candidates should possess:

Strong practical experience background in Java development and XML.

4 6 years' experience in systems analysis, design or programming and the associated development methodologies.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.

Proven communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to customers and to all levels within the organization.

Ability to interact well in a team environment.

Self-motivator

Bonus Skills:

Strong practical experience background in C++

Prior experience with project planning with medium size or medium level complexity projects

Prior experience providing store support for a customer facing retail application.

Knowledge working with and providing retail support of the IBM 4690 operating system is a plus.
