Job Description:

Cognos Development & Support 80% Defines and documents the report packages technical specifications based on the business analytical requirements including the physical components and their functionality.

Establishes, socializes and enforces standards, guidelines, policies, best practices, architecture patterns and frameworks for the enterprise report development.

Works with business partners and IR&C functional areas in technical analysis, design, development, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of enterprise reporting systems.

Builds, tests, implements and maintains Cognos Reports as specified. This includes security, publishing, scheduling and metadata management.

Administer Cognos 10 security using AD/Access Manager and monitor the overall performance.

Provide production support and train end users in Cognos Series 10 YBuild and Maintain ETL processes 10% Working closely with Data Warehouse Architect, data modelers, data analysts, business analysts and BI developers to understand requirements and using the InfoSphere toolkit and ETL best practices, develop ETL processes in support of the requirements, validate that they meet business and technical specifications; ensure that any issues raised during testing are addressed prior to migration into production; and manage ongoing maintenance of the system and data. Job Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or a related field or an equivalent combination of

education and experience.

 

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work on cross-functional teams and foster the team's commitment to tasks.

 

Expertise with Cognos Series 10, Framework Manager modeling, Report Studio, Query Studio,

 

Analysis Studio. Create and publish packages/multidimensional models using Framework

Manager from multiple data sources. Perform data modeling and query tuning in Framework

Manager and Report Studio to achieve maximum performance while retrieving data from

multiple data sources. R1

 

Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and complex business concepts in technical terms.

Strong database understanding and SQL optimization skills. Perform data modeling and query

tuning in Framework Manager and Report Studio to achieve maximum performance while

retrieving data from multiple data sources.
