Job Title: QA Engineer (12814-CIJBST-IO30-T-RAJ)
Location: Cary, NC
Duration: 6 months minimum, likely 9+ months as they are revamping the entire system
Emp.Type: 1099/W2

 

Responsibilities:
• Feature development testing across different products
• Writing, reviewing and executing test cases manually as well as using the automated test framework and logging bugs
• Writing and reviewing automated test cases using Selenium
• Build and improve reporting frameworks
• Identifying opportunities for improving the QA process
• Deployment acceptance testing
• Regression testing
• Coordinating with the off-shore teams
• Efficiently communicating test progress, problems and bugs with developers, BA's and PO's
• Attend the daily scrum meetings, planning sessions and story pointing sessions

 

Requirements:
• A Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent and of 6 years of experience working with QA and Test Engineering OR at least 10 years of working experience
• Solid understanding of QA principles and processes
• Experience developing test automation and scripts using object-oriented languages such as C# or Java
• Solid understanding and knowledge about programming and programming principles
• Experience with continuous integration such as Jenkins
• Experience with SQL (preferably Oracle or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (preferably MongoDB) queries
• Experience testing web applications and web services
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• A successful candidate must be a creative problem solver and have a desire to improve our software's
usability, reliability and performance

 

Preferred:
• 1-2 years of web development experience
• Experience with REST and SOAP API testing
• Experience with Fiddler and SoapUI
• Experience with load and performance testing using e.g. JMeter or LoadUI
• Maven and Git knowledge
• Experience mentoring and advising junior engineers
