Mandatories:

5+ years experience with HP (QTP) key-word driven framework

3+ years experience with HP (ALM)

5+ years experience with VB Scripting (VBA)

5+ years experience with Java development

3+ years experience with SQL using SQL Developer

 
Plus requirements to meet the Vertical Quals:

Senior Technical Specialist/Lead: Functions at the expert level performing analytic oversight and governance activities to control and manage the areas of product release, quality assurance, and configuration management for changes to and development of software products in the CalPERS production environment, and may act in a lead capacity on complex projects or may participate with other analysts on projects of a complex nature or broad scope.

Must possess a minimum of five (5) years experience in project work, monitoring and controlling product baselines and the processes supporting release, and testing of software applications including change and version control; at least three (3) years of said experience must have been at a high level both technically and in measure of responsibility.

Must have experience building and managing project plans.

Must have strong experience in the analysis, design, development, installation, implementation, procurement, and/or technical support duties within specified data processing systems, multifunction office automation systems, microcomputer systems, and/or teleprocessing networks.

Must be able to analyze data and situations; identify and solve problems; reason logically and draw valid conclusions; develop effective solutions; apply creative thinking in the design of methods for processing data.

Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.

Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of audience types using different mechanisms including informal updates, formal presentations, business case documents, and other analytical and technical documents.

 

In addition to the required Minimum Qualifications listed above, the following are desired qualifications:

    Knowledge of CalPERS lines of business
    Previous experience with the my|CalPERS application
    Previous experience with automated testing

 

The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks:

    Tools
    Test Automation Quick Test Professional (QTP) Framework Enhancements

The vendor will be responsible for assisting CalPERS in a QTP code optimization cleanup effort and an overall assessment of the QTP framework. The code cleanup will require updates to over 80 existing functions that include the following:

Command Parser (Driver Script) Updates:

o Refactor code

o Migrate some functions to function libraries

Function Library Updates:

o Expand code descriptions (description, parameters, return value, etc.)

o Remove unused Functions/Sub Routines and comments

o Update functions to not fail a script in ALM when it errors. May include implementing one of the following for each function

    Automation Job Scheduler

The vendor will be responsible for enhancing the current java based automation job scheduler to result in a more efficient "hands free" execution process

Deliverables:

Enhanced Batch Scheduler with capability to run automated test scripts "hands-free"

Job Scheduler Quick Reference Guide

Job Scheduler Maintenance Guide
