Job Overview:

Be responsible for designing backend and UI components - and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area for Linux Network Appliance.Work independently and contribute to the immediate team and to other teams across business.Lead design discussion in a limited manner.

 

Job Function:

 

Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverablesDrive world-class quality in the development and support of productsCommunicate effectively both within immediate team and also across SSG leadership team and with PLLsEngage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledgeApply principles of  SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing TechniquesWrite code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the projectUnderstand performance parameters and assess application performanceWork on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Software Development OR Master's degree with 3 years of experience Software Development

 

Required Technical Skills:

 

7-10 years of Hands on Experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Java and/or C++ coding principles

 

​Candidates should have background working with Networking, Firewall, VOIP related appliances and products

 

Hands on Experience of developing RESTful web services using Apache-CXF, applications using Spring MVC with JPA for Linux OS

 

Experience with software security vulnerabilities, and the ability to quickly identify security issues when looking at an application's code

 

Strong knowledge of OOD, software design patterns and principles

 

Expert in developing UI using AngularJS framework

 

Experience with Grunt and other workflow tools (Yeoman/Bower) is good, but not required.

 

Strong technical and analytical skillset

 

Must have solid understanding of backend architecture including SQL and NoSQL databases.

 

Other front-end test libraries is desireable (Jasmine/Mocha/CasperJS/PhantomJS)

 

Experience with other Data Visualization libraries (Raphael.js/Famo.us) and RESTful services integration is good.

 

Experience developing software for Linux based Network appliances and understanding of network protocols is desirable

 

Experience with software security vulnerabilities, and the ability to quickly identify security issues when looking at an application's code

 

Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices

 

Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
