Description:
The OBIEE Architect role is accountable for the proper design and implementation of any reporting tools in use in the context of the specific tools/applications, the DW strategy and the current set of reporting and information delivery requirements.
Ability to work with business users and business executives to capture information needs for their operational and strategic business needs
Ability to analyze and categorize these requirements to see what types of BI technologies will meet the requirements
Ability to design BI architecture using various technology options like standard reporting, exploratory/analytical
capabilities, Relational OLAP(ROLAP), cubes (MOLAP) and hybrid (HOLAP) and data mining based on the business requirements
In-depth Experience with Oracle OBIEE
Experience with Oracle Exadata
Understanding of BI Tools and Technologies market and ability evaluate tools
Ability to design new, or amend existing, information delivery/reporting tool infrastructures:
Sizing and capacity planning
Web and application server configuration
RDBMS support
Meta data repository planning and implementation
Security and administration planning and configuration
Installation and/or migration of back-end tool components on appropriate OS platforms
Planning, installation and deployment of client/administration interfaces:
Desktop tools
MS Office (e.g. Excel) add-ins
Web-based tools
Semantic and user/security administration tools
Stress testing and troubleshooting
Other desirable skills include:
Tool performance optimization
Implementation documentation
Configuration management
Understanding of various RDBMS products
Understanding of data warehousing and reporting/analysis concepts
Ability to work with other reporting and data warehousing professionals such as:
Business Analysts
Data Architects
ETL Designers
Report/Tool Administrators & Developers
