Description:
he PSG Data Architect works in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)-driven organizational framework and provides data architecture expertise. This role is responsible for the design and support of business intelligence applications and architecture to maximize the usefulness, availability and accuracy of data. The PSG Data Architect will:
Create thorough documentation artifacts and maintain same for duration of project
Identify and document data migration paths and processes
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Analyze and problem solve issues with current and planned systems as they relate to the integration in a SOA framework
Develop an in-depth understanding of the interrelationships of data and multiple data domains
Provide data expertise to supply data models and standards to determine common data
Apply corporate standards and approaches for data usage
Determine mechanisms for optimizing data asset usage including domain expertise for data integration, data cleansing, master data management, and data conversion
Monitor and evaluate data architecture project activities
Maintain industry/technical knowledge base and facilitate/maintain industry relationships
Demonstrate commitment to providing customer-focused quality service
Support assigned systems with on-call availability and respond within agreed upon timeframes
Perform other relevant duties based upon experience
Required Experience:
Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience in data architecture and data warehousing
Ability to develop and maintain data architecture models
Experience with relational data modeling for transaction systems, reporting, Service Methods (SOA) and XML message schemas, data quality management and data conversions from legacy systems
Experience or exposure to Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) and/or Business Intelligence (Informatica preferred)
Skilled at completing technical design via iterative mockups
High proficiency in MS Office Suite (esp. Word , Visio and Excel)
Proficient in one or more of the following data modeling environments : Enterprise Architect by Sparx (preferred); ER/Studio (desired); ErWin; Teiid; IBM Infosphere/Rational Architect;
Aptitude for learning new skills and software quickly
Technical expertise regarding data models and database design development
Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML), including Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERD) , Sequence Diagrams, and Data Flow Diagrams (DFD)
Understanding of XML, SQL, Data Modeling Language (DML), and Data Definition Language (DDL)
Demonstrated ability to produce highly detailed, comprehensive documentation artifacts

Must be able to take strategic direction from executive management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project
Ability to balance short-term versus long-term actions, strategic versus tactical requirements, while continuing to move forward towards the strategic vision
Ability to develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database
Preferred Experience
Healthcare industry background
Experience working in an SOA framework
Ability ills with demonstrated ability to communicate at different levels of the organization
Strong knowledge of XML, XML Schema, XSD, XSLT/XPath
Knowledge of Oracle Database performance tuning, creating indexes, aggregations, and stored procedures
