Job Description:
iORMYX is looking for a Senior Android Developer for a contract to hire position with one of our leading clients in Bethesda, MD. Client will hire off Skype if needed, but candidates must work on site once hired.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

-Expert Software Engineer, Mobile Apps (Android)
-10+ Years experience on Android /Java platform
-7+ years experience in developing software with expert-level expertise in multiple programming languages and methodologies
-5+ years experience developing native apps on the Android platform
-Experience developing Universal apps supporting UI for varying screen sizes (e.g. phones and tablets)
-Experience with 3rd Party SDK integrations such as Google Maps and other open source libraries
-Experience packaging and publishing applications on Google Play
-Proven knowledge and experience of SOA using RESTful web services and API platform integrations
-Working knowledge of latest trends in Android technologies,
-Demonstrated in-depth understanding of mobile industry trends, development products and environments as well as best practices for mobile application design and 
development
-Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

-Graduate degree
-Experience developing apps for iOS or Windows Mobile platforms
-Excellent knowledge of working with dynamic data using services (e.g., JSON, XML, REST APIs etc)
-Experience with Android testing frameworks such as Espresso
-Experience with Data Modeling, Networking, and Push Notification frameworks
-Experience with Android Wear technologies
-Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins
-Experience with GIT source code version control
-Experience with JIRA
-Active contributions to OSS projects
-Relevant technology certifications
-Experience in waterfall and/or agile software methodologies
-Demonstrated ability to anticipate future software engineering opportunities
-Technology leadership experience in a sourced environment
-Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand business terms
-Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, effective controls and leading in a managed service environment

-Selects, designs and implements critical components of technology to support this company's global digital and mobile strategy.
-This role will integrate and advance our mobile platforms in alignment with our core business objectives and technical architecture.

-Resolves and makes decisions on complex, non-routine service requests with limited to moderate risk.
-Performs research, analysis, design, creation and implementation of applications to meet current and future user requirements.
