Job Description:
Hands-on DataStage design and development experience; preferably in a Data Warehousing capacity; preferably in a UNIX environment
Job Summary:
The Integration Developer, in conjunction with established process and procedures, writes and tests programs to meet business functionality requirements in compliance with IM (Information Management) Solution Architecture and IM integration guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze source data/file structures, technical metadata, profile source data and develop data mapping and transformation rules and detail ETL specifications based on business requirements;
- Assist in the collection of technical metadata supporting the implementation;
- Utilize automation tools to schedule, execute, and monitor ETL jobs;
- Design, test, and debug data flow plans to populated databases;
- Design of the ETL application;
- Performance tune the application to meet operational production requirements;
- Develop and execute, in conjunction with the ETL Architect, Quality and Release, and Process Analyst system and integration test plans;
- Implement audit, balance and controls per business requirements;
- Implement upper and lower control limits as required in the business requirements;
- Design and code functions of the application in accordance with the ETL standards and architectural guidelines;
- Execute test plans and document results and discrepancies;
- Prepare applicable ETL application supporting documentation;
- Responsible for on-call support;
- Assist in researching and resolving data issues uncovered during development and testing;

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years experience within IT;
- 3+ years as a ETL development using various technologies including IBM DataStage, and Unix, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry;
- 2+ years of data analysis in a warehouse environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of data models, databases (preferably DB2 and Teradata), and the overall data flow architecture in the data warehouse environment;
- Ability to dialogue clearly and effectively with business, IT stakeholders, testers, and developers to gain understanding and resolution;
- Ability to quickly work through opposing views and reach consensus and clarity of understanding;
- Team player motivation to deploy best approach to ETL development while achieving win-win results;
- Proven ability to document thoroughly
- Self-learner and ability to work independently
- DataStage background
- Strong SQL skills
- DB2 background -- and now add Teradata background to the database technology as a preference
- Experience in a Data Warehouse environment
