Responsibilities:
* Assists in evaluations, architectural planning, and solution definition in portals technology domain. Works with Enterprise and Solution Architects to translate business strategy into both firm requirements and conceptual architecture.
* Recommends architecture direction for new initiatives and provides guidance to project teams.
* Maintains in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends, etc., for portal technology domain.
* Shares knowledge of Websphere portal and service integration/best practices across the enterprise. Develops and executes a communication plan for new standards, stated directions, guidelines, etc., as required.
* Assists in defining the system, technical, and application architectures, and in some instances the business systems architecture for major areas of portal development, recommends course of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
* Establishes technical rationale and business case for infrastructure changes.
* Proactively identifies and defines technical standards and procedures, as well as proactively defines direction for future infrastructure projects.
* Provides input into the enterprise-wide infrastructure target state for portal infrastructure architecture.
* Collaborates with Enterprise Architects in other architectural areas to ensure comprehensive/cohesive working solutions are developed across architectures.
* Maintains knowledge of and applies industry best practices for architecture, and assists in the development of future architecture and technology migration plans.
* Evaluates and selects from existing and emerging technologies the options best fitting business and IT strategic needs.
Requirements:
* Deep knowledge of Websphere portal and services integration an absolute requirement. WCM knowledge desired. Healthcare payer experience a plus.
* Requires a Bachelors degree in computer science or related IT field or equivalent work experience.
* Masters degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
* Has 8-10 years of experience in enterprise projects within the architectural domain.
* Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement involving broad-based information systems, utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change; business systems analysis experience.
* Significant experience, in architectural management of multiple core component areas, migration planning and project management of infrastructure projects.
* Demonstrated experience in translating business strategies, across several business units, into effective solutions.
