Description:
Our client in the Baltimore, MD area is looking for a Data Warehouse Developer/Architect to join their team on a contract basis.
Responsibilities:
· Find/generate executive level support for the data warehouse initiative.
· Define key business drivers for the data warehouse initiative.
· Deliver a project scope that directly supports the key business drivers.
· Define the overall data warehouse architecture (e.g., ETL process, ODS, EDW, Data Marts).
· Define technical requirements, technical and data architectures for the data warehouse.
· Recommend/select data warehouse technologies (e.g., ETL, DBMS, Data Quality, BI).
· Direct the discovery process.
· Design and direct the ETL process, including data quality and testing.
· Design and direct the information access and delivery effort for the data warehouse.
· Define and direct the implementation of security requirements for the data warehouse.
· Define meta data standards for the data warehouse.
· Direct the data warehouse meta data capture and access effort.
· Define production release requirements and sustainment architecture.
Requirements:
· 11 years experience in enterprise web application development, 11 years of direct working experience in an application development capacity.
· Strong data modeling skills (normalized and multidimensional) (Required).
· Current knowledge of the data warehouse market; vendors, and standards bodies (Required).
· Strong technical skills with all data warehousing technologies (e.g., ETL, ODS, DBMS, BI) (Required).
· Experience in leading successful enterprise data warehousing efforts (Required).
· Broad based information technology experience (e.g., languages, methods, EAI, XML).
· Experience in Dimensional Modeling, ETL, OLAP and Report Development (Required).
· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint 2007 (Required).
· Experience with Web Standards, Classic Web Development Concepts (State Management, Stateless Development).
· Experience in requirements evaluation (translating functional specifications into technical solutions).
· Provide support / guidance to the development teams during the design, development, and testing processes.
· Strong business and communication skills.
· Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance.
