Position Overview:

iORMYX Inc has an exciting opportunity for a mainframe senior developer to contribute to the development and support of the suite of applications supported by the Backoffice Mainframe team. Most of the applications supported by this team focus on Securitization functions that are mission critical in supporting Freddie Macs ability to provide liquidity to the mortgage market. This position is within the Single Family Delivery Services group. As a Senior member of the IT team, an individual in this position is responsible for providing solutions and code delivery in both project and production support capacities. This position will also champion incremental improvement in our domain through design improvement, technology/tool changes and delivery process improvement. This individual will also work in a highly collaborative environment and support a variety of customers.

 

Responsibilities Include:

-Understanding business requirements participating in Requirements analysis.
-Designing and developing applications based on system requirements and architecture, prototyping if necessary.
-Performing unit testing and deploy applications.
-Comply with the department and industry application standards based on mainframe application development principles, theories, concepts, documentation and techniques.
-Contribute and participate in design and code reviews.
-Ability to work concurrently on projects as well as production support.
-Provide production support that includes evaluating defects, investigating root cause and come up with solutions to address defects.

 

Basic Requirements:

-College Degree or equivalent experience; work towards advanced studies/degree preferred.
-Typically has 4 - 6 years related experience.
-4-6 years of experience in design and development of mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, SAS, DB2, CICS.
-Java proficiency desired, although this is subordinate to the need for COBOL experience.
-Ability to interact directly with the customer on either production support or project related efforts.
-Hands-on experience with Build and Deployment tools (e.g. ISPW)
-Good knowledge of database concepts.
-Innovative in providing solutions, likes to take on challenges with calculated risk.
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent working experience

 

Preferred Skills:

-Familiarity with Mortgage Industry.
-Works under normal supervision with the ability to work independently once given clear direction.
-Good communication skills both verbal and written.
-Proactive in nature with customer satisfaction as primary goal.
-Quick learner of new technologies and tools.
