Job Title: Java/API Developer (070814-LERKON-IO42-E-RAJ) Location: FOSTER CITY, California Duration: 6+ months Emp.Type: 1099/W2     Job Description: Our client has an exciting new initiative with an ambitious objective to consolidate multiple partner and developer facing assets across the company into a common platform in order to simplify partner connectivity, decrease integration costs, and accelerate the pace of collaboration and innovation across the company payments ecosystem.   The Developer Platform team provides the standards, subject matter expertise, and technology framework that enable the company to efficiently package its  core and value-added products into consumable services and then deliver them reliably and securely to a global developer community.   API Developer   As a Senior Software Engineer with the API Management team, you will design, build, and publish APIs to connect a global community of developers from some of the largest banks, merchants and strategic partners to the clients Payment Network and eco-system. You will work closely with Product Management, Architecture and other engineering teams with the company to rapidly transform and grow our API catalog.   Responsibilities: -Design and develop web service APIs and core functionality to allow third-party developers to more easily integrate applications with client products. -Develop high-quality, ship-ready code with unit tests. -Work with Product Management and other developers to understand and translate marketing requirements into design requirements and provide estimates for development. -You must want to be involved with the design, not just code to a spec. -Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive design, implementation, testing and release of products.   Skills Required: -BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related degree -5+ years of development experience in web-related technologies such as Web Services, REST, SOAP, WCF, ASP.Net, C#, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, and XML. -Must have a strong Java background (Java 7) -Experience defining and developing web service APIs. -Experience in integrating with web-based products. -Experience with Hibernate, JDBC, XSD, CXF,Tomcat & Oracle -Experiences with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control, build process, testing, and code release. -Experience with Agile and Test-driven development methodologies -A passion to learn new software technologies.   Nice to Have: -Working experience with an industry standard API Gateway technology such as Layer 7, APIGEE or Intel MASHREY -Experience with LDAP -Experience in a Banking, Financial Services or Payments industry.
