Job Description:

The senior database programmer will primarily be a SQL developer developing and implementing solutions as defined in the technical requirements delivered by IT analysts. The database programmer will develop solutions using the full suite of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 tools including: SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS, and SSRS.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop stored procedures and SSIS packages per business requirements

Perform unit level analysis on all work done before handing over to the testing team

Provide feedback to technical analysts on suggested system enhancements and changes to technical requirements

Write requirements for architecture changes

Develop SSRS reports to meet the needs of end business users

Troubleshoot bugs in production environment

Work with testing team to understand and fix document bugs

Document all work, both via comments in code, and in written technical specification documents

Maintain accurate and organized notes on the status of development projects

Requirements:

Knowledge of: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 tools including: SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS, and SSRS

Strong understand of relation databases and database design

Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle

Strong technical writing skills
