SAP BASIS ADMIN
Location : New York, NY
Duration : 1 year.
GC CITIZENS AND EAD’s or H1 transfers will be given preference over C2C.
Perform Basis Administration tasks as requested: client copies, transports, spool management/administration, batch management/administration, daily health checks, create/maintain RFC connections and other integration points between SAP systems. Apply SAP Notes, Support Packages, Support Stacks, patches, and component upgrades. Configure required monitoring configuration for SAP systems and databases for SAP NetWeaver environments. Perform monitoring and tuning on SAP and Oracle instances and databases. Perform troubleshooting and analysis for basic problems and issues. Work with application team members to troubleshoot and analyze problems or issues in the SAP systems. Research SAP Support Portal for reported issues, technology updates, configuration and installation options. Assist in maintaining documentation based on approved methods, approach, and strategies for SAP Basis Administration processes and procedures. Perform as primary and secondary responsible Basis Administrator for one or more SAP instances. System manager is responsible for health and checks on the system as it relates to SAP Basis Administration functions. Provide input on the development of technical implementation and Basis Administration support strategies. Maintain IA awareness related to technical management and support of the SAP systems. Perform installations of SAP instances (ECC,GRC, EP, PI, BI, BPC, Notes Management, Solution Manager, NetWeaver components).
EDUCATION:
Degree in Computer Science, information systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
SAP Basis and Security certification
EXPERIENCE:
5 to 8 years direct experience administrating SAP applications (i.e. SAP Basis, Portal, BW, BPC, Notes Management, Netweaver, GRC etc.)
Supervisory experience is required
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE - SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
SAP Basis and Security hands on installation and maintenance
Technically fluent in Unix and Oracle database administration
Competency as a team leader and all aspects of employee management
Good project management skills
Knowledge of enterprise-level applications
Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent communication skills with the ability to impart ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
