Description:
Strong understanding of networking with 5 + years experience in maintaining / managing a high availability data center / campus environment.
Strong understanding of Cisco IOS command set and experience with Cisco Nexus.
Strong understanding of Extreme exOS.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Prior experience working in an IT help desk with a ticket request queue
Strong desire to make things work
Experience with LAN/WAN management and monitoring packages - DCNM -Solarwinds - OP5 -Nagios

Summary:
Candidate will be responsible for LAN operations in the R&D IT Hub and Test Environments (labs) located in San Jose.
Candidate will have local and global responsibilities as a member a local team with tie-ins to a global service model (no travel required).
The Hub environment is a large and sophisticated stack of technologies in which the LAN component is an integral part.
The Test Environment is a busy space where network hardware and management tools are developed and tested. Therefore, the ideal candidate is rooted in industry best practice while retaining an imaginative flexibility and a will to surmount "off book" problem sets to sustain operations and help R&D achieve project goals.
