JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY :

 

The QA Automation Architect provides highly specialized and advanced technical expertise and mentoring in the design,

development and implementation of product/solution testing, maturity of quality processes, and in developing long-term ownership of our QA/testing architecture and environment.

ROLE :

- Quality Architecture Realization.
- Provide advanced technical expertise and mentoring to the quality assurance team and the broader organization.
- Drive quality assurance process and technology improvements across the organization, specifically in areas of quality control,

test-driven solutions, build and test automation, and source control management.
- Assume technological and direction planning ownership of dedicated QA/Test environment.
- Design and develop product testing/quality processes, ensure a team review of defects in assessing product quality,

and facilitate the review of applications for testing needs and requirements/design quality.
- Make educational presentations to QA colleagues internally and at the industry-level as needed.
- Participate in the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation and testing of products at an enterprise-level.
- Internally market the principals and practices associated with delivering high quality solutions, both within the team and across the organization.
- Interface with product development teams on the creation/review of test plans, including participation in release planning.
- Work directly with IT delivery to establish and mature a quality architecture (guidance & standards) that is consistent with IT principles and supports the strategic direction.

Document/publish these standards and lead efforts to incorporate them into the IT fabric.
- Work closely with IT delivery to enhance/standardize the quality assurance environment, introducing/maintaining testing standards, and evaluate/introduce recommendations to improve the testing practices and supporting/enabling environment.
- Develop strategic roadmaps for QA maturity or facilitate such development across stakeholder groups.
- Identify and communicate gaps within the organizations existing practice and technical environment.
- Lead initiatives through potential POC efforts related to QA and supporting technologies or new use of existing technologies.
- Provide advice to senior management on quality assurance advancements, and make strategic methodology, technology and development recommendations.
- In collaboration with other architects and technical leaders, drive the continued maturity of a high-impact architectural practice (people, process, and technology),

supporting accelerated progress towards achieving critical enterprise and IT objectives.
- Assess market and trends to identify new approaches and technology solutions for investment consideration,

executing proof of concepts to ensure viability and use of product to address capability needs, and research best practice guidance to drive value delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 7 to 10 years of experience in at least two IT disciplines from the following list: solution design, application development, integration services, quality assurance, product design,

IT support & administration, or integration/middleware.
- Object Oriented Programming (OOP) experience using Java at an enterprise level.
- Object Oriented Design (OOD) experience using UML, understanding of Design Patterns,

Enterprise Integration patterns and use of a modeling tool.
- Experience building and implementing a QA Automation Framework.
- Experience with QA related tools related to:
* Build Automation (ANT, Maven)
* Configuration Management (Chef, Puppet, Salt)
* Source Control (Subversion, OpenCVS, IBM Rational ClearCase)
* Test Automation (QTP, Selenium)
