Job Description:

A UAT / Business Test Engineer with strong Business Analysis Skills, UAT Process insights, and strong databases and Back-End testing experience initially contributes to the functional components verification of test planning, execution and validation of expected results.

Based on the project needs, the Business Test engineer will be required to perform heavy Business Analysis, Impact Analysis, identification and construction of test scenarios, generation of inbound files and generation of expected results.

The comparison of expected results will be using SQL. The organization and execution of test cases is manual and its associated automation will be through Quality Center/QTP.

Responsibilities:

• Understand business requirements and develop test cases.
• Create and execute the functional scenarios for a test effort.
• Work with development, Business, QA, and Automation engineers to determine root cause of batch job execution problems.
• Must have excellent problem solving skills and be capable of breaking down complex situations to discover and resolve root causes, this applies to both Testing issues and Technical issues.
• Provide metrics and project planning updates for the testing effort.

Experience Required:

• Strong Business analysis and Impact Analysis Skills
• Strong Analytical skills
• Heavy SQL experience
• Must have UAT test Hands On experience, (part Business Analyst role with extensive UAT test experience also acceptable)
• Dissecting business requirements into various testing scenarios.
• Experience extracting, combining, analyzing and interpreting data from various sources to provide meaningful information for decision making
• Strong Testing Process background.
• Basic Unix (need to be able to find log files, move log files, understand permissions and how they are applied within the Unix space).
• Creating and executing Test Cases.
• Due to nature of the work flexibility to move between different sub teams is a must.
• Solid communication skills (speak clearly, communicate testing processes, etc.)
• Need to be able to code SQL and do it in the interview

Qualifications (Must-Have Skills):
• Experience of at least 5 years back-end SQL testing.
• At least 5 years of hands on experience in QualityCenter.
• At least 5 years of Experience with UNIX, SQL, batch processing.
• Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to another.
• Familiarity with Doors, Clear Quest and Clear Case is nice to have.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent teaming skills.

Nice to Have Skills:
• Familiarity with mortgage business.
