Position Description
We are looking for a data analyst/modeler/architect with a minimum of 7+ years working in the financial IT community. Candidate must possess a strong understanding of database concepts including transactional databases, data warehousing, operational data stores, and data marts along with strong database design and modeling skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on SQL skills, data profiling/quality experience and understanding of ETL and reporting concepts.
The candidate must have strong communication skills and be able work with business users, business analysts, and IT team members in a highly collaborative team environment. Candidate should be disciplined, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and delivery-focused.
Morgan Stanley has recently embarked on an aggressive strategy to increase capabilities and assets in the banking space (deposits, lending, etc.). To support this rapid business expansion, the growth of technology capabilities and services is critical. The position is in a data architecture group focused on delivering both tactical and strategic database solutions to support sales, risk, and regulatory reporting for banking products.
The individual will work closely with other team members, business analysts, business subject matter experts, application developers, and IT owners of the data sources. Individual will be responsible for database design and modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) for data warehouse, data marts, and operational data stores while adhering to firm standards for data models and naming standards. Individual will work closely with other team members, business analysts, business subject matter experts, application developers, and IT owners of the data sources to provide guidance on existing data.
Skills Required
? In-depth knowledge of database concepts.
? Strong background in data analysis and data modeling using Erwin and Model Manager.
? Knowledge and/or experience with data quality, ETL and reporting.
? Hands-on experience RDBMS systems, specifically Sybase, DB2, and/or Teradata.
? Strong SQL skills and database design for performance.
? Strong communication skills
