Project: Architecture needs resources under Network
Connectivity Domain to provide architecture support for new initiatives
coming down the pipeline, development of reference architectures, strategy
roadmaps and solution architectures. Resource part of staff augmentation and
project volume driven.
statement:
The Connectivity Network Architect with focus on Voice over
IP, unified communications and network convergence strategy for a multi-site
enterprise infrastructure. The Architect is responsible for understanding
industry standards and best practices, keeping current with financial
industry trends and emerging technologies, understanding and evaluating
complex business functions and processes, operational requirements and
procedures, and melding these to form a set of comprehensive and coherent
plans to support and further the business in its converged network
infrastructure endeavors. Architecture Services is charged with working
closely with Information Security, Engineering and Operations groups to
comprehend and recognize business, industry, and technology variables
(currently in place, planned, developing and emerging) and setting the
direction of the IT organization to support current and future business
models, strategies, and processes.
* Participate in development ofarchitectural strategy, including technology standardization and modernization of data center, enterprise and disaster recovery network infrastructures.
* Align architectural strategy with businessobjectives.
* Establish the technical principles that will guide the evolution of the segment.
* Enroll operational & engineering team
members in the strategy, by interfacing at a technical level.
* R&D advanced technologies to enhance & evolve core network, IP PBX and unified communications infrastructure used across systems and services.
* Stay current with developing technologies
and predict impact of changing technologies
* Continually find ways to improve cost performance.
* Write reference architectures and strategic road maps for VoIP and network convergence technologies, and solution architectures for various infrastructure initiatives.
* For operational segments take ownership of outcome by driving the organization to world class results, including passing all industry tests and internal and external audits.
* Provide technical leadership to a team of talented engineers, working with our management team to drive completion of your vision.
* Investigate and generate recommendation son key third-party components, such as network, security & voice infrastructure technologies, necessary to implement
solutions.
* Work closely with other Architects in designing and building solutions that are reusable, quick to market, and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
Skill: Subject Matter Expert
* 12+ years of IT experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
* Minimum 6 years of experience in a senior level architecture role engaged with IP network technologies including BGP/ OSPF routing, L2/L3 switching, QoS, MPLS, IP VPN, and network-security in large scale multi-site enterprise environments.
* Minimum 6 years of experience in an architecture or engineering role engaged with voice communication technologies including IP PBX, soft phone, unified messaging,
audio conferencing, SIP Trunking and Session Border Controller, enterprise mobility, E911, IP contact center and VoIP security.
* Demonstrated experience with Cisco, Avaya-Nortel and/or Microsoft telephony and unified communications product solutions.
* Understanding of cloud computing services
and virtualization, and its use for voice, video and unified communications.
*Understanding of network-security architecture best practices.
*Knowledge of industry trends with next-generation converged network technologies and service deployment models.
* Experience with video conferencing and media streaming networks a plus.
* Experience working with a variety of constituents within and outside of IT to drive cohesiveness while ensuring that the architectural direction is achieved.
* Ability to work independently and within groups. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Ability to think on a multi-site enterprise level; be forward looking.
* Possess excellent written and verbal
communication skills, presentation and problem solving skills.
