Position Description:
The Point of Sale OS/Data Analyst is responsible for leading all facets of the 3rd party vendors analytical system that is tied to POS and Self-Checkout. The application will optimize store operations through smarter information. The operations management application is used to see descriptive analytics for KPIs, such as operator efficiency, POS interventions (i.e. manager overrides, transaction efficiency. The configuration manager application provides an easy GUI for users to setup and configure options. The individual performs many of these tasks independently and communicates with the appropriate teams to ensure that assignments are delivered with the highest of quality and in accordance to standards. The individual may complete coding assignments when necessary to meet the needs of the business. Essential Job Functions:
Act as the subject matter expert for the application. Work directly with the 3rd party vendor for all technical issues related but not limited to NoSQL Couchbase and Cassandra data storage, Websphere application servers and DB2 database.
Understand and follow the strategic direction set by management as it relates to the project goals
Uses considerable judgment to determine solution and seeks guidance from the appropriate KT SME on complex problems
Partner with the Kroger Technology mobile and CIS teams to allow for the web-based tools to be used by store managers.
Define and create operation procedures, processes and test scripts.
Create technical requirements for the vendor for all enhancements.
Deliver high-quality solutions
Support and maintain solutions utilizing required tools and technologies
Provide off-hours support (24 x 7) when needed.
Requirements:
3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing data applications in production, using such technologies as NoSQL Couchbase and Cassandra
3+ years of hands-on experience with Websphere Application Servers
3+ years of hands-on experience with DB2
Experience modeling data for NoSQL data stores
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Proven communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to customers and to all levels within the organization.
Good leadership skills
Can work with minimal supervision
Thorough understanding of different operating systems
Ability to determine methods and procedures on new projects with minimal guidance.
Knowledgeable of appropriate change/release management practices.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Desired Skills:
Bachelor's degree in IS or related equivalent work experience in an Information Systems position
Experience with IBM 4690 and ACE is a plus
Experience in retail and/or Point of Sale applications is a plus
