Job Title:Redhat Linux VMWare Administrator(Ref Code: 112613-KAPSHR-IO31-E-KEV)

Location: PLEASANTON, California

Duration: 5 Months

Employment Type: 1099/W2

Job Description:


The System Administrators role is to monitor, manage and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications.

This individual also ensures that system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Required Technical Skills:


Technical knowledge of other Unix flavors (e.g. Solaris, HPUX, Linux)
Technical knowledge of Windows
Knowledge of other clustering technologies (e.g. Veritas, MC Service Guard etc) a plus
Experience with VMWare ESX highly desirable
Technical Knowledge of SAN.

Responsibilities:


Monitoring of servers, addressing any issues raised and ensuring that SLAs are met.
Pro-active maintenance of servers and supporting infrastructure.
Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
Participate in and support capacity planning for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
Coordinate with end-users and other IT infrastructure groups to implement server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
Deploy servers and other related devices in datacenters.
Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers. Escalate incidents as necessary.
Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
Create required reports in response to business user needs.
Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.

1)Installation and Configuration of Weblogic, OBIEE, Hyperion, and Portal

2) Work with App Dev teams in deploying code across SDLC environments

3) Work on troubleshooting the infrastructure environment issues

4) Work on production issues, fix them and complete RCA

5) Experience with WILY and process monitoring setup



Tasks and Responsibilities:

Job summary - Developer – Java Developer:

The Developer works on complex application problems involving all phases of software development and maintenance.  The developer analyzes requirements and develops detailed design specifications, develops block diagrams and logic flowcharts, and translates detailed designs to computer programs.  The developer codes, tests, debugs, and refines new software or makes enhancements to existing programs to produce the required product. Developers must be able to participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.


Summary of functional responsibilities:

Design, develop, debug, deploy and support implementations of assigned components for mission critical, high volume systems

Find innovative solutions to complex technical problems

Investigate and evaluate third party applications and tools

Participate in design, product, and code review meetings.

Develop and maintain design mockups, user flows, detailed specifications and other design documents

Test software for defects and write testing scripts to operate and test all elements of programs.
